Shockwave ERROR 10 - Files Missing By PC Tech Support at 2010-09-27 22:49:13
|
Even Shockwave's own tech support forum left a user or two hanging without an answer as to how to resolve, Shockwave Error #10. A post on a tech support blog I found has a solution for the problem that may work for you.
If you have come across this blog in search of an answer to this problem for yourself or for someone for whom you're trying to solve the problem for on their desktop, get more information of at least one method used to solve this problem. Use the following link to the actual post - Shockwave Error #10
This solution isn't a documented one. Nor was is at the time of this post on Adobe's support site, but if you're getting error 10 and your Shockwave player doesn't work on web sites and pages that utilize the web based PC support software, then give it a try. Be sure to link to it so others can find it faster.
With web based PC support software, a technical support can be provided to the desktop that is having this error displayed. Although Adobe has long fixed this particular error in version 10 of Shockwave, there are other "bugs" that users will experience. The software for rendering flash media is getting more complex as with most rendering and browser or web based software add-ons. Web based updates are provided for Adobe Shockwave and other products. These automatic updates permits the software to be upgraded through the web. The user is notified of the update and can approve it if desired. More often than not, the update requires administrative level permissions on the remote PC desktop, at that time tech support can remotely access the computer system through the local network or over the Internet with web based PC support software. Web based PC support software used by tech-support is aiding in faster problem resolution. Whether the software is web based or a fully install-able 32 or 64 bit windows application, the desired result are the same.
