Information Technology and Support. By PC Tech Support at 2008-05-14 23:06:04

The small list above is of some blog sites I've found and used information contained within their posts to assist with some support situations and represents efforts by their authors, who actually implement technology and post some of their reviews and opinions. They've decided to share some of their experiences in support and information such as this that's not written for promoting a particular manufacturer's or distributors products but instead written to try and inform other users and implementers of technologies is invaluable information.
It's a rare treat to find computer support blogs that have their content provided by actual technical people and not a paid writer. Non-commercialized unbiased opinions have their advantages. Their authors don't just talk about technology, they implement it as well.

By yon von rhinehardt at 2014-10-29 18:27:25 My company uses web based computer support software to provide remote assistance for our clients. We use web based computer support for remote desktop control through the web for our client and for supporting our own company. Web based computer support software has enabled us to provide remote assistance with screen-sharing support over the web. This helps us get access to remote computer desktops and and PC computer systems to repair operating system configuration problems, install and setup new applications and for distribution of new corporate applications. With web based computer support software, we can connect to users online through the web. We connect remotely and repair computer problems. We even use if for server support. In addition to providing desktop remote control support through the web, we can access routers and other networking hardware. We do this by connecting to a desktop computer PC system that is located on the same local network or a connecting network. Once we have remote control access of the the computer desktop or PC system, we then are able to access the router, switch or other networked device using the appropriate connection method. Most networking devices have a web interface. Although they can be connected to for managing through the web, many are not directly accessible from the the Internet. That is why we connect to a system on the network first. Another method we use for server support is internal built-in support and management capabilities. Examples of built-in technologies for managing and configuration servers is HP iLO and Dell DRAC. These technologies have been developed by Dell and HP to allow management and monitoring of the servers. They can not only manage and monitor, but also provide a means for remote accessing the console of the server. Like web based desktop support software, HP iLO and Dell DRAC gives us the opportunity and the mechanism for accessing and repairing problems without having to go onsite. Again, this saves us countless hours which can be spend supporting other clients. Web based desktop support software like web based computer support software is remote support software that enables remote control access over the web. The access not only can be gained over the web but on the local network. In the example of HP iLO and Dell DRAC, these technologies are accessible with a browser. We only need a standard web browser and we can connect. The access is full screen-sharing. There can be multiple people accessing and viewing the console at the same time. We have complete control of the screen, keyboard and mouse.
